Regardless of whether you work full or part-time from your home office, it’s worth investing in the space to make it comfortable and productive. Having the proper work environment will easily pay for itself in the productivity gained.
Not to mention the fact that you’ll actually enjoy spending time in the space and not dread your time in it… Having worked from my own home office for many years now, I can assure you that this is more important than you might realize!
With that, let’s take a look at some of my favorite home office accessories (in no particular order)!

1. YETI Rambler Mug
Regardless of whether you’re drinking fluids for the caffeine kick or hydration, keeping them at the proper temperature can be difficult in regular cups. Thanks to its double insulated walls, this cup is sure to keep your liquids cool or warm.
This double insulation also ensures that it won’t sweat and risk ruining papers or your desktop.
Its wide mug-like feel is comforting to hold and is engineered with a nonslip surface to help avoid workplace spills. Last but not least, it’s dishwasher safe!
2. Brussel’s Bonsai Live Dwarf Jade Indoor Bonsai Tree
Just because you’ll be cooped up indoors doesn’t mean that you have to leave behind all traces of life! Take the chance to spruce up your home office with a lovely jade bonsai tree!
Better yet, this little plant requires very little watering or upkeep to ensure that you stay on track with your planned office work.
In much of Asia, the Jade plant is considered good luck and thought to stimulate “financial energies” so it’s well placed in a home office!
3. Anker Wireless Charging Stand
Most of us spend our office-bound time on computers, however, our mobile phones can still prove to be quite distracting! By storing your phone on an upright stand, you can remove the temptation to pull your phone out of your pocket to check it and interrupt your workflow.
Better yet, this Anker wireless charging stand servers to boost your battery life while you’re working and not risk a low battery later on! It also comes in black and white versions to help blend in with your other home office decor.
4. Apple Magic Trackpad 2
After decades of computer use, I’m a bit embarrassed to say that my hands hurt after a day of work on the computer. But those pains faded quickly once I shifted to the freeform use of a trackpad!
Admittedly, I probably still need to spend less time around the computer, but the Apple Magic Trackpad 2 greatly improves my day-to-day comfort. Having also had the trackpad 1, the second generation is a BIG step up.
Its increased surface area gives your hand that much more freedom of movement. The tactile surface has the perfect blend of tack and slide, making use feel simultaneously effortless and in control.
5. TriggerPoint Massage Gun
Long hours at the desk can lead to aches and pains from getting tight. While stretching can help undo this tightness, coupling it with a massage can work wonders.
For the cost of a single massage at the spa, you can get a handheld percussion massage gun to work out your aches and pains from the comfort of your home!
This nifty handheld gun makes quick work of tight spots and can relieve a tight neck, hip, or anything else that ails you. All with the comfort, speed, and convenience of being able to do so from home.
6. Leitner OfficeAlly Wireless Telephone Headset
If you’re the type to take a lot of calls from your home office then you’ll want to consider a more comfortable headset option. While there are many cheap options available, it’s worth investing in one that’s comfortable, has fantastic call quality, and gives you years of good use.
Not only does the Leitner model give you all of these, but it also provides you the versatility of connecting to your computer via USB or to a traditional landline phone.
If you’re dealing with some extra noise around the house, it’s extended mic and noise cancelling do a great job of tuning out any distracting sounds.
7. Belkin USB-C Hub
Regardless of whether you’re a Mac or Windows user, you’ve got to admit that the number of ports on modern computers just doesn’t cut it! Couple that with the need to connect HDMI cables, SD cards, etc… and you may run out of room quickly.
For Mac users running recent machines with only USB-C connections, you know exactly what kind of issues that this can cause! While Apple certainly produces its own hub, it’s overpriced for the small number of hookups provided.
You will be far better off purchasing something like this Belkin due to its larger number of ports, and quality build. Sure – there are cheaper options out there, but I don’t want to hear the complaints when they burn out after a couple of months of use!
8. VIVO Standing Desk Converter
Standing desks are a great way to give your body a break from desk life. However, standing all day is nearly impossible and may leave you feeling just as bad as sitting all of the time.
Thankfully, VIVO came to our rescue with a simple desktop appliance that allows us to easily switch between a sitting and standing position.
In addition to it’s compatibility with any desk, I love the fact that it has the space for two monitors and a secondary platform for your keyboard as well. Many convertible standing desks are barely large enough to hold a single laptop, let alone all of the other functional accessories that most of use on a daily basis.
9. Mind Reader Foot Rest
Even with adjustable height chairs, you may find that your feet just don’t comfortably reach the floor. This is where adjustable footrests like this one from Mind Reader can do wonders to take the tension off of your low back.
While it may not seem like a big deal, I love how the textured surface gently massages your feet. You’re already at home, so feel free to kick off those shoes and enjoy the foot massage while you work!
10. Lasko Ceramic Portable Space Heater
No products found.Many of us have home offices located in odd locations around the house, and as a result they can end up colder than we’d like in winter. While you could certainly turn up the heat throughout the entire house, a more efficient approach is to simply place a small space heater in your office.
This little electric heater can easily heat up most small office spaces, or at a minimum send a warm draft of air your way to keep the cold at bay!
This compact model comes with an adjustable thermostat to ensure that it’s not overheating your office space and has built-in safety features.
11. Rocketbook Smart Reusable Notebook
Notetaking is one of the best ways to keep yourself organized at work. While pen and paper certainly have their advantages, I love the fact that you can get the feel of traditional notetaking while also having a digital copy using Rocketbook.
After taking your notes, simply take a photo of the page(s) using the Rocketbook app and let it sync a digital copy to a storage destination of your choosing. Once you’ve made the digital copy, use a microfiber cloth to wipe the pages clean and re-use them!

12. TP-Link WiFi Extender
If you’re lucky enough to have a home office that’s centrally located in your home then this item may not be as helpful.
However, for noise reasons, many of us set up our home offices at the far edges of our homes to keep the noise to a minimum. That distance often results in a weaker WiFi signal.
Thankfully, you can remediate this issue by setting up a WiFi extender to bridge the distance between your home office and router. Thereby ensuring that you’ll get to keep your quiet space without sacrificing internet speed in the process.
13. High-Back Executive Office Chair
We know that sitting too much isn’t great for our health, but if we must do then it should at least be comfortable! Getting yourself a comfortable chair that can raise and lower to get you at the perfect working height is crucial.
I particularly like the high-back variety so that you have the chance to lean back and rest on occasion as well.
Its wheeled feet and 360-degree spinning capability further enables you to reach other things around your office as needed.
